Being entertained as the VIP guest is something I just can't get used to at all.

You look exhausted for some reason, however…?

I'd instinctively called out to Kalim and our dorm mates when I saw them clamour about as they prepared for the party.
Jamil
Before I knew it, I ended up preparing for my birthday party with my own two hands.
MC/Yuu
Is it really fine for you to spend your birthday like that?
Jamil
Well, everyone did do their best for my sake. Their well wishes were conveyed through their actions, at least.

Is there an animal you would like to try keeping as a pet?
Jamil
…A parrot, I guess. It was said to be the Sorceror of the Sands' right-hand.
Jamil
Kalim once said that he wanted to keep one in the dorm, so I researched how to take care it… Ever since, I've always been curious.
I stopped him back then since it wasn't suitable for keeping in our dorm, but I think it'd be okay to keep one myself after I graduate.
Jamil
The parrot that supported the Sorcerer of the Sands is said to have intelligence which rivaled that of humans and was capable of fluent speech.
I wanted to see how one would talk with my own two eyes, and watched tons of videos posted on Magicam, but…

There wasn't any parrot that could talk like a human. That should've been a given, though.
Jamil
The Sorcerer of the Sands must have used a special method to teach his parrot how to speak.
Animal Linguistics shouldn't have been as developed as it is now, so he must have struggled greatly, right?

If you were to keep one, what kind of words would you teach it first?
Jamil
I suppose the first one…would be "Master".
Jamil
…What's with that disgusted look? Don't you agree that teaching one about the social hierarchy is important?

How much time do you spend styling your hair every morning?
Jamil
I use magic for it, so it takes less than five minutes.
But I did take a long time to get the hang of it. I used to spend 30 minutes or two hours, even.
MC/Yuu
Did it really take that much time to master?
Jamil
You need a good grasp of the technique to use magic to make thin braids, after all.
Still, I thought it'd be a good opportunity to train my magic, so I did it daily without fail.
Jamil
Now, I've improved so much that I can even change my braid style on a whim.
MC/Yuu
Do you get your hair accessories by yourself?1
Jamil
I'd bought some and received others… I've gotten them through various means.
Jamil
Although, most of the ones I use daily were chosen by myself.
Jamil
The hair accessories I wear often lately were found and bought by myself.
Jamil
They have bells attached to them. If you listen carefully… *jingle* See, you can hear a little ringing, right?
Jamil
Bracelets and anklets with bells on them are often sold in the Scalding Sands, but it is rare for hair accessories to have them.
The bells ring even if you were to just handle your hair roughly, so the ringing is seen as an earsore. Then, you'd be cautious of your daily conduct.

The meticulous thought you put into being fashionable is showing.
Jamil
It is said that being well-groomed improves the impression one gives to others, after all.
Nothing beats tidying one's self up, right?
MC/Yuu
