The clothes I'm wearing now were sewn for me by my grandma, actually.
In fact, all your outfits were hand-made by all the villagers.

We have a custom of knitting winterwear whenever the snowfall gets too heavy for farmwork to be done.
The designs and patterns differ from person to person, so we even hold exhibits to show off what we've knitted every year.

Right. They're tough to make and maintain, so nowadays, it's only really the Kelkkarotu participants that wear them.
That's been the case ever since ready-made clothes that are a lot easier to care for spread through the village. But the villagers do still love these outfits.
This traditional clothing is known as Apple Boa.
The name originally referred to the pom-pom on the hat that's shaped after an apple…
But over time, people began to refer to the entire outfit itself as Apple Boa instead.

Look, my hat has apple ornaments instead of a pom-pom on it, doesn't it?

It does indeed. It's incredibly adorable, actually.

I mean, that's not so bad, either, but I was kinda hoping you would say something about how like…cool it is 'cause it's like I'm bearing my village's legacy on my shoulders or something…

Indeed, the outfit is very cool because of how it creates this sense of you bearing Harveston's legacy on your shoulders, while also getting across that enthusiasm you all have towards Kelkkarotu.

Oh yeah, back when I was a kid, I accidentally pulled off one of those pom-poms because I kept messing with it.

I have become more fond of the gorgeous stitchwork than the warmth the clothing provides.
